My name is Jose, I moved to Japan knowing that I still had responsibilities back in the U.S. but I didn’t fully understand the benefits, options, or rules that applied to Americans living abroad.
When I reached out to tax services back home, I didn’t feel supported. The process felt confusing, rushed, and impersonal. I was left with more questions than answers and no real understanding of my own situation.
That experience motivated me to learn the system thoroughly; not just for myself, but to help others who felt overwhelmed and unsure about their U.S. taxes while living abroad.
