TERMS OF SERVICE — HARBORA TAX

Last updated: December 15, 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Harbora Tax website and services. By accessing this website or engaging Harbora Tax for services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Harbora Tax provides U.S. individual income tax preparation services, consultations, and related support for U.S. citizens living abroad.

Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of U.S. federal tax returns

  • Related forms and schedules based on client information

  • Electronic filing where authorized

  • General tax guidance related to prepared returns

Harbora Tax does not provide legal advice, financial planning, or investment advice.

2. No Client Relationship Until Engagement

Submitting a form, scheduling a consultation, or communicating through the website does not create a client relationship.

A client relationship is established only after:

  • An engagement letter is signed, and

  • Required consents are provided, and

  • Applicable fees or deposits are paid

Until then, any information shared is considered preliminary.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide complete and accurate information

  • Submit documents in a timely manner

  • Review prepared tax returns for accuracy before filing

  • Notify Harbora Tax of any errors or omissions

Clients remain legally responsible for the accuracy of their tax returns, even if prepared by Harbora Tax.

4. Fees & Payments

  • Fees are based on the complexity of the return and services requested

  • Pricing will be communicated before work begins

  • A deposit may be required prior to preparation

  • Final payment is due before electronic filing

No refunds are provided once work has begun.

5. Deadlines & Extensions

Timely filing depends on client cooperation.

If required documents are not provided by requested deadlines, Harbora Tax may recommend filing an extension. Filing an extension extends the time to file, not the time to pay.

6. Accuracy & Limitation of Liability

Harbora Tax prepares returns based solely on information provided by the client.

Harbora Tax is not responsible for:

  • Errors or penalties resulting from incomplete or inaccurate information

  • IRS or state authority decisions

  • Changes in tax law after filing

Liability, if any, is limited to the fees paid for the specific services provided.

7. IRS Correspondence & Audits

Harbora Tax does not represent clients in audits unless separately agreed in writing.

If you receive correspondence from the IRS or another tax authority, please notify Harbora Tax promptly.

8. Confidentiality & Privacy

Harbora Tax respects client confidentiality and handles information in accordance with:

  • IRS confidentiality rules

  • Internal Revenue Code §7216

  • Our published Privacy Policy

Clients authorize Harbora Tax to use third-party software and secure electronic systems as necessary to provide services.

  • Communication via email

  • Use of secure portals or scheduling platforms

  • Electronic delivery of documents and notices

While reasonable security measures are used, electronic communication cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure.

  • Required information is not provided

  • Fees are not paid

  • There is a breakdown in communication or cooperation

Clients may terminate services in writing, subject to fees for work already performed.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
